Welcome to Remington and Charles Village

A bustling town with a lively art scene and a diverse population

Remington and Charles Village are two of Baltimore's most historic and vibrant neighborhoods. Located just north of downtown, the two communities offer a unique mix of old and new, with various housing options from well-preserved Victorian rowhomes to modern luxury condominiums, there is something for everyone in Remington and Charles Village.

The area is also home to a thriving arts scene, with regular gallery openings and live music performances. In addition, the neighborhoods boast a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, making them a great place to live, work, and play. If you're looking for a place to call home in Baltimore, you can't go wrong with Remington or Charles Village.

When it comes to things to do in the area, Remington and Charles Village residents are never at a loss. Outdoor enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Wyman Park Dell features 16 acres of pristine trails, sprawling lawns, and a variety of community events—including an annual Holi Colors Celebration, Spooky Tuesdays in October, and the Charles Village Festival. The Charles Village Festival is especially exciting, featuring live music, creative performances, and an assortment of local food vendors and artisans.

Those seeking an authentic market experience would be remiss not to pay a visit to R House, an industrial-chic marketplace located in a renovated car-repair shop. Featuring a variety of high-quality chef-driven booths, R House is the perfect place to sample delicious and thoughtfully crafted dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.

Art-lovers would be remiss not to visit Graffiti Alley, a hidden alleyway in Baltimore that has served as a haven for graffiti artists because it is legal for them to practice their craft there. The legendary L-shaped space constantly evolves, with even the trash cans transformed into works of art. The energy in the alley is contagious, and it’s not uncommon for breakdance parties to pop up in the street among the area’s vibrant murals. Another essential destination for creatives is Baltimore's first Bust Boys & Poets. This multipurpose space serves as a bar, restaurant, bookstore, and event space. Initially founded in 2005, the space has since served as a mecca for politically-minded artists working within every medium.

Served by Baltimore City Public Schools, the students of Remington and Charles Village are exposed to an ambitious curriculum designed to uplift them in both academic and extracurricular settings.
